A Wooden Giant Has Fallen

When I found out about Nikolai Sutyagin's incredible handmade wooden home early last year, I claimed (rightfully so in my opinion) that it was the coolest skyscraper in the world, so it's extremely depressing to learn that the Russian's creation was demolished earlier this year.

Above: Nikolai's home last year

The 13 Storey building, started in 1992 by the ex-gangster, was made entirely of wood and attracted attention from around the globe for obvious reasons. It was a work of art. The guy started building and just couldn't contain himself when he realised he didn't have to stop.

Well eventually he did, and late last year workers began to destroy one of the most intriguing structures ever built following instructions from local authorities. Here's the moment the top gave way.

According to Wikipedia, the entire building was demilished by February of this year. Such a shame.

Wow, that really was one of the most amazing buildings I've seen. Thanks for writing about it, I hadn't heard of it before. You're my friend on SU by the way, you accidentally sent me the Tyre post 10 times or so. You definitely got my attention! smilies/smiley.gif

I had a desire to start my business, however I did not have got enough of money to do it. Thank God my fellow recommended to use the home loans. Therefore I took the short term loan and realized my old dream.

If you want to buy a house, you will have to receive the home loans. Furthermore, my mother usually takes a bank loan, which is the most firm.
